When will entry close?
Entry will close on 19th October 2018 or before if category becomes full.

I’ve lost my confirmation email, can I view my registration online?
Yes. Our new registration system allows you to view your registration online. Please login to your online account and follow the links to transfer your entry. Please Click here or copy this link into your browser https://passport.active.com.

Is there a maximum time limit?
Yes, for health and safety reasons all participants must return by 18:00. A sweeper team will follow to ensure you meet this time limit. You may be asked to retire at the next checkpoint if meeting the time limit is unlikely.

How do I sign up to volunteer at the Beachy Head Marathon or 10k?

Do you post out a race pack?
Race numbers and timing chips are NOT posted and can ONLY be collected during registration. Registration will be open Friday 26th October from 3pm to 7.30pm and Saturday 27th October from 7.00am to 8.30am (Marathon) and 09:00am (10k). You will need to register and collect your number and your timing chip. Registering for other participants is possible as long as you know their name and DOB. The registration marquee will be located on Helen Gardens, adjacent to Bede’s Prep School, Dukes Drive, Eastbourne, BN20 7XL.

Can I purchase a last minute entry on race day?
Unfortunately not. All registrations must be completed online, in advance.

Where are the checkpoints/ drinks stations located?
Drinks stations are available at each checkpoint. Checkpoints are highlighted on the route map.

I can no longer participate, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately refunds are not available.

Can I defer my entry to the following year?
Unfortunately deferrals are not available.

Can I change race category?
Category transfer is available until 18th October 2018 or before if category becomes full. *A processing fee of £5 will be applicable.

Can I transfer or sell my registration to another participant?
For health and safety reasons we cannot allow the transfer of registration numbers between participants.

Can I start the race early?
For health and safety reasons we cannot allow early starts. The marathon starts at 09:00 and the 10k at 09:30.

Can I edit my registration details?
Yes. You can edit your registration details online. Please click here - https://passport.active.com

When will I receive the final event details?
Final event details will be emailed out to all participants 2 weeks before the event.

Is the course the same as last year?
Yes. Please see the route map for further details. Marathon Route 10K Route

What is the minimum age for marathon participants?
The minimum age for marathon participants is 18

What is the minimum age for 10k participants?
The minimum age for the 10k is 16; however you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian if you are aged 16 or 17.

Can I run in a fancy dress costume?
Yes. We encourage fancy dress costumes of all shapes and sizes. Please ensure the costume is suitable for such run.

What is the best way to get around the route to spectate?
Hop on one of Brighton & Hove Buses Coaster service with regular buses between Eastbourne and Brighton to various viewing points around the course including Cuckmere Valley at the Seven Sister Centre and of course, Beachy Head! Bus timetables are available in the Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre.

Toilets on the route
Organisers recommend participants use facilities at hotel or home before arriving at the event due to limited facilities on site.

Marathon: Start/Finish, Alfriston (pubs/hotels) 9m, Litlington 16.7m, Birling Gap 22m.

10k: Start/Finish

Food/Drink on the route
We offer a variety of bananas, mars bars, jaffa cakes, soup, jelly babies, sausage rolls, water and juice at each check point. Should you require energy bars, gels or energy drinks it would be advisable to bring your own.

Course ground condition and footwear.
Organisers cannot guarantee the underfoot ground condition of the Marathon & 10k Route. Therefore participants are encouraged to prepare for all conditions including: dry, damp, slippery, soft and muddy. Trail/ off road running shoes are a popular choice for this event.

Parking
Parking is available on the seafront leading up to the Start/Finish Line at Bede’s School. We recommend you arrive from 7am to guarantee yourself a space nearer the start/finish line.

Merchandise
Merchandise is available from the Sports Hall/Baggage area. Cash is the preferred method of payment. Alternatively you can purchase merchandise online here.
